That got me thinking of all the other things that he has not experienced: television without Tivo, cars without GPS, people without cell phones, VHS tapes, film camerasI could go on and on. But it makes me feel old...and I'm only 33!

"New" Soap
This past December, we stayed with my Uncle Rick and his wife in Des Moines. In one of the bathrooms, Nicholas told me that there was "new soap". To those of us older than 4...that means bar soap. Nicholas had NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE. The only soap we've used in his lifetime has been foaming pump soap. I got some great smelling bar soap from Pier One for our half bath downstairs figuring it would be a novelty...and it is. He's thrilled.
