Tom Turns 34!

Tom turned 34 today (is that considered "mid-30s"??). Nicholas, Charlotte and I met him for birthday lunch at Chevy's (the perfect, loud, kid-friendly spot...and Nicholas loves anywhere with chips). Halfway through, I took Nicholas to the bathroom and on our way back, he told our waitress about his daddy's birthday - complete with "He's turning 34!!" Celebration ensued. And that celebration included a sombrero.

We opened presents and had dinner at home - homemade pizza and key lime pie. Tom is not a cake person, and thinks that we should all celebrate with birthday pie.

The balloon tied to the chair is from Nicholas' birthday - August 25th. We're trying to see how many birthdays it can make it through.

A little help from Nicholas, who was standing by with the pink sprinkles...

The filling was pretty tart...but Charlotte didn't turn down handfuls of the whipped cream.
